On February 29th, we organized an event where Danjela lectured on: “How Christianity has shaped Western civilization?”
There were around 50 people who attended. We welcomed the guests and had a short quizz with some of the key historic facts regarding the lecture. The presentation consisted of how Christianity, throughout history, starting with ancient times till the 21st century, has had a meaningful impact on fighting slavery, child abuse, gladiator games and many other monstrosities of antiquity. Christians insisted on treating all humans equally, because all humans are made in the image of God. In Medieval times, Christians were the first to start scientific discoveries and universities.
Most of the reactions, especially from students, were: “This was very interesting. We had history in school, but we never learned about these things…”
Afterward, we had a session with Q&A where we had the opportunity to discuss further with our guests.
In the weeks after the event we had the opportunity to contact some of the attendees and discuss further about the lecture. We had some good conversations and shared meaningful thoughts on impact that Christianity had had during history. Most of them were interested to participate in our next events. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers for each of them.
